President Uhuru Kenyatta denies endorsing Peter Kenneth

Nairobi,KENYA:President Uhuru Kenyatta has denied endorsing former presidential candidate for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

While speaking at state house ,Nairobi ,the president has termed the reports as misleading saying he remained neutral on the issue.

While speaking during the burial of former Gatanga Mp’s father David Murathe,the president told the residents to pray for Peter Kenneth to win the Nairobi gubernatorial race.

‘Don’t be restricted by anybody from voting  leaders of your choice,pray for your son(Peter Kenneth) so that he wins the Nairobi governor seat’he said.

Peter Kenneth told the residents to vote for president Uhuru Kenyatta in the  August 8th  general election .

Kenneth is expected to battle it out with with the Nairobi senator Mike Sonko in the nominations which are set to take place on 21st April in Nairobi county.

The president has insisted that the Jubilee party nominations would be free and fair.

‘The decision would be made by the citizens and everyone would get the ticket depending on the nomination results’he said.

The president has also warned those who  planning to cause chaos during the party primaries saying such violence would not be tolerated.

‘My government is committed  to enforcing the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of all  citizens and communities during this primaries and the general election’said the head of state.
