Kenya’s rugby sevens men’s team Shujaa has landed in pool C alongside England, France and Spain in the eighth leg of the World Series slated for 13th -14th May in Paris France.
The pairing offers Shujaa an opportunity to revenge on England who dethroned them as the Singapore 7s champions during the seventh leg of the series held in Singapore last weekend.
Kenya came close to qualifying for main cup semis only to let slip a 12-0 first half lead to narrowly lose 12-13 to England in the quarters played on Sunday at Singapore National Stadium.
The Innocent Simiyu coached team booked its second main cup quarters this season after finishing second in its pool with two wins and a defeat.
The victories came against Argentina, 22-7 and Samoa 17-7 before going down 7-29 against Australia.
After losing to England in the quarters, Shujaa would then fall 21-24 at the hands of New Zealand in fifth placed semis to bag 10 points that left them 11th in the 16-team table standing on 57 points.
