Nairobi,KENYA:A popular comedian on Churchill show known as ‘Ayeiya’ is dead.
Ayeiya whose real name is Emmanuel Makori, died Friday morning in an accident along Lang’ata road in Nairobi.
According to a Nairobi journalist who spoke to Baraka FM, Ayeyaa’s private car was involved in a crash with an oncoming vehicle.
“The accident occurred in the morning next to Catholic university,” said the journalist.
Details about the accident are still very little but according to Ken Waudo of Laugh industry who spoke to a renowned blog, Ayeiya’s Toyota Premio vehicle hit an electric post along the busy road .
Ayeiya was in the vehicle together with his wife and fellow comedian Wakimani. Both Wakimani and his wife are currently admitted at the Kenyatta national hospital
Fellow comedians including Churchill have confirmed the news on their social media pages.
“We are waking up to Very sad news of the passing of one of our Comedians, Emmanuel Makori (AKA) our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
May God give them strength in this difficult time.” Churchill wrote on his Facebook page.
The comedian rose to fame following his appearances at the Churchill show and has risen to become a household name.
However he faced a challenge in his career after a video of him exhibiting questionable behavior emerged online leading to his fans getting concerned about his mental health.
