Nairobi, KENYA: Amani National Congress has denied reports that the NASA technical committee has unveiled the name of NASA presidential candidate.

In a press briefing at party heaquarters in Nairobi on Friday, Party’s sec general Godfrey Osotsi downplayed such reports which indicated that the technical committee has named the presidential flag bearer including other two top positions.

“Reports from certain unverified sources carried by some sections of media purporting that NASA has reached a decision on the position of flag bearer are erroneous given the fact that our members in the NASA National Coordinating Committee (NCC) and technical committee are not aware of a decision having been made by NCC or technical committee on the flag bearer.” Osotsi said

He urged Kenyans to ignore such information and remain steadfast on efforts to unite NASA coalition.

Kipruto Kirwa who is among the representatives of ANC in the NASA technical committee, said that the negotiations are ongoing and the committee is weighing on different permutations, adding that the committee will not rush following the IEBC deadline on presidential deadlines is due towards the end of May.

Osotsi therefore encouraged anchor parties to the NASA coalition to refrain from conducts that might undermine the coalition unity.

He insisted that as a coalition they have agreed as the main opposition that no partner will pull out with her supporters if their principal is not picked the Presidential candidate.

“We did not unite to pick a presidential candidate, but to wrestle Jubilee out of power and rescue Kenya from suffering and Jubilee’s toxic misrule.”Osotsi said
