Mombasa, KENYA: A woman was on Wednesday charged in a Mombasa court for allegedly getting married to two men.
Marlin Coram Pownal is charged with bigamy contrary to section 171 of the penal code.
The particulars are that on the 7th July 2013 at Kwale Kadhis courts, Ms Pownal went through Islamic marriage ceremony with Salim Juma Hakeem while knowing that there was existing Christian marriage between her and Mr.Carlo De Pasquale which had not been dissolved.
The accused person pleaded not guilty before Mombasa senior resident magistrate Edigah Kagoni.
Mr. Kagoni orded the accused person released on a cash bail of Sh.10, 000.
The case will be heard on 12 April.
