Mombasa,KENYA:Undercover detectives in Likoni, Mombasa county have arrested five Ethiopian aliens who were headed to Tanzania.
The aliens were arrested in in Makao Mema Majengo Mapya area, where they were allegedly harbored in the house of a suspect said to have gone into hiding.
Police believe the suspect has been engaging in human trafficking for a long time.
The five aliens who cannot understand English nor Swahili language; have been identified as Habit Mohammed,Bilal Kambado,Dasane Bako,Matheus Godebo and Tamaskei Malaso.
Likoni police chief Willy Simba said the aliens were headed to Tanzania through the porous Lunga Lunga border.
The police boss noted that the suspects had no valid documents for travel.
He said they got information from the public which led to arrest of the suspects.
“We arrested the suspects after we got information from the public. We will arraign them in court tomorrow as we look for the suspect who had been habouring them,’’said police boss.
The five were driven to Likoni police station.
It has not been established how long the aliens have been staying in the said room.
He urged the public to be vigilant and inform the police over any suspicious characters within the area.
