As social media companies begin to realize that viral images used in memes have real personalities behind them, with activists arguing that memes can be used to cyberbully others,Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz is the latest celebrity to fall into a trap of laughing off a meme with a real victim behind it.
The singer found himself laughing off the marital woes facing Citizen TV 10 over 10 host Willis Raburu earlier in the week.
The presenter has been in the spotlight after it emerged that his marriage to Mary Ngami had hit rock bottom with the latter leaving their matrimonial home to live in Thindigua in Kiambu County.
At first netizens had linked the broken marriage to a Ugandan woman who later denied any ties with the chubby presenter.
It all began when Diamond’s buddy Juma Lokole shared a meme of Willis Raburu on the day he exchanged nuptials with his wife photo grided with the photo of a lady resembling Mivanoella, the lady who has been linked to the marital woes facing the couple and captioned it:
“Kifo Kitatutenganisha lol Kifo”( Till death does us part,Lol death)
Diamond Platnumz who saw the meme laughed it off.
It is not yet clear if the two are aware that Raburu’s marriage has hit rock bottom.
However, Lokole has overtime earned a reputation acting as a spokesperson for Diamond Platnumz’s relationships.
Earlier this month, the outspoken blogger clashed with Diamond’s former flame Tanasha Donna after he told Tanzanian journalists that the former NRG presenter has been dumped due to being lazy in bed.
Before the incident, the blogger had controversially claimed that Hamisa Mobetto was the reason Diamond and Tanasha’s relationship had gone up in flames.
