Kilifi,KENYA:There was shock in Majajani location of Kilifi North sub-county after what is believed to be human bones were recovered in the thick Mwembe Lutu forest.
According to area residents who spoke to Baraka FM they got curious after noticing dogs carrying bones that did not look like those of an animal and upon following up they realized the bones looked like those of a human being who is feared to have died quite long ago.
It is suspected that the bones are of a woman as beside them was a piece of Leso.
Commission of elders in Kilifi County, led by Chai Chivatsi visited the scene .
Chivatsi told Baraka Fm over the phone that it is suspected the deceased was raped, killed before her body was dumped at the thick forest.
“The bones are quite dry so we suspect that the woman must have died quite sometime back” he said.
“We call upon the police to take action on the incident and investigate how exactly the bones made their way into the forest” he added.
Area Chief Joseph Ndurya confirmed the incident.
He said he had no knowledge on how the bones made their way into the forest suspecting the bones might be of a human being who was killed in another area and her body dumped in Majajani.
By the time of going to press, Police had not yet arrived at the scene.
