KRA extends working hours to ease filing of returns

Mombasa,KENYA:If you have not filed your tax returns, then you have more time to do so before the set deadline.

The Kenya Revenue Authority on Thursday extended its working hours at all itax centers for Kenyans to file their returns.

In a press release sent to newsrooms, the tax man extended its services at all Huduma centers countrywide in a bid to allow more Kenyans file returns.

Huduma centers will now open Mondays to Fridays from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm.

The centers will also remain open on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.

KRA also warned taxpayers against not filing returns saying they will pay a hefty fine.

“Taxpayers are encouraged to visit the centers to avoid the Ksh. 20,000 penalty that accrues when a taxpayer does not file their returns”, reads the press statement.

The deadline for filing returns is June 30th 2017.
