Mombasa,KENYA:Here are 5 Kenyans vying for political seats after getting free publicity.
Kenya is peculiar. Well, this is not a research from the famous Ipsos Synovate or any other research firm, but my observing stretching several years now.

Due to the growth of social media, few unknown Kenyans have found themselves trending for the bad reasons. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, using the free publicity to launch their political ambitions.

So here is my list of the 5 who have shown interest in politics after the long journey of criticism.

1.Maina Njenga, former Mungiki leader.

He is a former leader of Mungiki, a banned sect and probably one of the most dreaded illegal group ever formed.

Mungiki was formed in early 1980s. Its leader, Maina Njenga is not new to arrest and charges. He knows it all having been detained for crimes ranging from murder, extortion and damage to properties. However, he reformed and even got “saved” and establishing a church in the process Hope International Church.

Well Maina Njenga did not live it at that.He has since declared interest to vie for Laikipia senatorial seat in 2017.

2.Mugo Wa Wairimu, fake Doctor.

Not many people knew “Dr. Mugo Wa Wairimu”, till the unfortunate allegations of raping his female patient.

This didn’t seem to bother him though. Quickly Dr Wairimu became the talk of town and that lead him to declare his interest to vie for Mp in Roysambu Constituency. Mugo, via his Facebook account wrote, “It is now official. I will begin house to house campaigns to sell my policy to residents. I am exercising my constitutional right and no one can stop me.” End of quote.
