The inaugural East African Ocean Festivals kicked off in Mombasa County on Friday.
The three-day event kickes off on Friday afternoon at Fort Jesus with swimming competitions.
The swimming competitions commenced with the under 11yrs category followed by the under 15yrs. Other categories included the 16-35 yrs and the over 35yrs.
The first day also included a boat parade and water stunts shows.
Second and third day activities include canoe racing, sailing, speed boat race, traditional dhow race, kayaking, dragon race, sport fishing, beach soccer, beach rugby, beach volleyball and kid’s activities.
The boating and racing activities will be held at Fort Jesus while the beach sports activities will take place at Nyali Beach.
