COVID-19 claims 19 lives as total fatalities surpass 500

19 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

This is according to the ministry of health.

Addressing members of the fourth estate in Nairobi during daily COVID-19 briefing, Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr. Mercy Mwagangi said the 19 now bring the total number of fatalities in the country to 506.

The CAS added that, the country confirmed new 378 positive cases drawn from 3,867 samples tested.

“From the new cases, 372 were Kenyans and seven were foreigners. In terms of gender 223 were males and 156 were females. The youngest case is a one year old baby, while the oldest was 87 years old,” said Dr. Mwangagi.

In Mombasa county, only seven (7) cases were confirmed from Kisauni (3),Changamwe (2),Jomvu and Mvita each one case.

Meanwhile, 244 patients have recovered from the disease bringing the total number of recoveries to 17,612.

Nairobi County continue to lead with high number of confirmed cases after recording 219 cases in the last 24 hours.
