Kenyan Matatus have in the past caught the attention of many over their promotion of the creative industry.

Despite having come under fire over allegations of brutality, hooliganism and promoting a criminal culture by using portraits such as that of the late Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar ,Matatu owners keep raising the bar higher and higher in terms of creativity.

Well if you thought that only Matatu’s from Nairobi have caught the attention of celebrities, then you are wrong .
Matatu’s operating in Mombasa have of late been getting appreciation from local and international celebrities.

Here are 3 celebrities who have  in the past appreciated Mombasa Matatus.

1 Cardi .B

The American based Dominican rapper last year revealed that she almost cried after a MOM sacco matatu drew her face on its bonnet.

“This in Kenya,Africa !!!???❤️❤️❤️I Love it .I wanna cry this made me really happy !Shout to all my supporters in Africa !!Hope i visit one day # BardiGang” the Bodak Yellow rapper wrote on instagram November last year.

2.Zari Hassan

Diamond Platnumz’s ex-girlfriend and baby mama is the latest celebrity to show his love for a MOM sacco matatu plying the Ferry-Kisauni-Bamburi route.
The matatu’s rear has Zari’s portrait while the front has Zari’s name.
Over the weekend Zari shared photos of the matatu on her instagram account captioning them “Love you, the Love is real”.

3 Huddah Monroe

The petit socialite and businesswoman last year showed love to yet another Mom sacco matatu that has her face drawn on its bonnet saying that artists needed to be appreciated.
