The Knowles’ sisters are expected to go head to head in some of the major categories in the upcoming BET Awards to be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on June 25.

Beyonce Knowles (35) and Solange Knowles (30) have received nominations in the Video of The Year and Best R & B categories.

In the Best Video, Beyonce will go against Solange’s Cranes In the Sky, Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, Migos’ Bad and Boujee and Big Sean’s Bounce Back.

Queen Bey, who won video of the year with Formation last year, is nominated for the top prize again with Sorry.

Meanwhile in the best R& B category Beyonce and Solange will get in formation for best female R&B/pop artist category, along with Rihanna,Mary J Blige and Kehlani.

Solange is nominated with her 2016 album A Seat At The Table while Beyoncé’s politically charged visual album Lemonade has received a gong onthe same.

Beyonce is up for seven awards, closely followed by Bruno Mars who has five nods while Solange is up for four.

The two siblings also made history last year after they became the only siblings who had albums which had peaked at the Billboard charts in the same year.

Previously Michael Jackson and sister Janet Jackson had received such honours.

Sensing some unrivalled sibling rivalry here and some awkward moments, while the Knowles’ parents watch which sister gets the bigger number of trophies.

The duo has been a source of controversy when leaked CCTV footage from 2014’s Met Gala showed Solange attacking Beyonce’s husband, Jay Z, in an elevator as her elder sister seemed less moved.

Solange also took to Twitter earlier this year to defend her sister after she felt that the album Lemonade was snubbed for Album of the Year Award at the 2017 Grammys.

Lemonade was named by Billboard as the world’s top selling album in the 2016 calendar having moved 2.6 million units while her Formation tour raked in more than $256 million in ticket sales for last year’s tour.
