Nairobi, KENYA: National men’s rugby sevens team Shujaa has dropped to 12th in the World Series standing following a dismal performance at the Paris Sevens held in France over the weekend.

Shujaa managed only one point after falling 15-7 to Russia in the 13th place semis finals on Sunday, leaving them with 58 points with one leg remaining before the season come to close.

Kenya kicked off Paris Sevens on a losing note going down 22-14 to the hosts, before bouncing back with a 26-14 success over Spain but failed to qualify for main quarters after drawing England 12-12 in the final match of the group.

Shujaa then lost 12-7 to Argentina in the challenge cup quarters dropping to 13th place semis where they failed to impress against lowly ranked Russia.

The innocent Simiyu charges now switch their energy to the final leg of the series slated for England next weekend where they are in Pool A against series leaders South Africa, USA and Wales.
