Coast General hospital improves facilities to enhance services

Mombasa,KENYA:Coast General hospital has received new improved facilities to enhance services to its patients.

The hospital on Monday opened its ultra-modern 12 bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and three beds High Dependency Unit (HDU).

The facility which according to the County Government has been renovated to meet the international healthcare standards is equipped to provide high level critical care to adults and newborns.

It can also handle post-operative care for complex neurological and cardio-thoracic surgeries.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho in a statement confirmed six units of the ICU and three units of HDU were done through the Managed Equipment Services Project in collaboration with the County Government.

”We have also hired a Critical Care Physician, four Medical Officers and ICU trained nurses dedicated to the ICU to enhance the level of care provided in the facility,”

”We will continue to provide a progressive, responsive and a sustainable healthcare system for the people of Mombasa,” said Governor Joho in a statement.

Coast General receives high number of patients daily since it’s considered the largest hospital in the Coast region.
