Mombasa,KENYA:Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Tuesday sensationally claimed that the government has gone to the extreme of visiting his former nursery schools to verify his academic history with the intention of intimidating him.

Addressing the press in his office, Joho says he has information that National Intelligence service Officers -NIS, visited his former nursery schools in the continuing debacle over his academic qualifications.

‘I know that they have even visited my former nursery schools in Tononoka and Tom Mboya’, he said.

According to Joho, his troubles started after asking the government ‘hard questions’ and opposing the transfer of port operations from Mombasa to Naivasha.

‘I want President Kenyatta to come clean on the privatization of the Mombasa port. We asked questions on the cost of SGR’, he added.

The governor vowed to defend the rights of his people by putting in check the jubilee government saying he will not give in to intimidation.

He accused the examination council KNEC and the CID boss Ndegwa Muhoro of forging his alleged KCSE certificate to frame him on forgery charges.

‘I am being investigated by the entire institutions under jubilee government from the KRA to CID and ministry of health who want to ascertain my birth certificate’, he said.

The governor is expected to record a statement with the CID over his certificates on Wednesday.
