Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has come out to criticize his club in an interview claiming United’s head coach and two other key figures in the administration don’t want him in the club.
Ronaldo who hasn’t played for the English giants in their two recent fixtures said he “does not respect” Erik ten Hag and claims the Manchester United manager tried to force him out of the club in the summer.
“Not only the manager but other guys around the club (at the senior executive level). I felt betrayed. I don’t care; people should listen to the truth. Yes, I felt betrayed. I feel that some people didn’t want me here, not only this year but last season too,” said Ronaldo.
The five times Ballon d’Or winner who hasn’t played for the English giants in their two recent fixtures said he does not respect Erik ten Hag.
“I don’t have respect for Erik ten Hag because he doesn’t show respect for me, if you don’t have respect for me, I will never have any for you,” Ronaldo said.
In the interview with Piers Morgan Ronaldo said in terms of progress, nothing had changed since leaving the club in his prime twenties.
“The progress was zero. Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed. He [Ferguson] knows better than anybody that the club is not on the path they deserve to be,” he said.
Ronaldo drew criticism from his manager back in August when he left early during a friendly against Spain’s Rayo Vallecano.
In October, he refused to come on as a substitute during the closing stages of his side’s win against Tottenham Hotspur and was left out of the fixture with Chelsea as a punishment for his behavior.
