Police in Kwale County are in pursuit of a teacher who attacked his estranged wife before fleeing the scene.

James Kimeu, a 35-year-old teacher at Menzamwenye primary school, is said to have attacked 29-year-old Caren Namubuya with a kitchen knife and a hammer.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the two had separated before the attacker, Jame Kimeu, invited Namubuya to his house in a bid to reconcile,” said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

“Neighbours who heard the commotion forcefully gained entry into the house and found the victim lying on the floor in a pool of blood,” said the DCI.

Kimeu, however, managed to escape and detectives have since launched a manhunt for him.
