Kilifi County gubernatorial hopeful George Kithi has insisted that village elders and Nyumba Kumi representatives throughout the country should be included in the government payroll.

According to Kithi, any person serving the country should be on the government payroll.

“People serving this country should be paid by the government. Our village elders and Nyumba Kumi representatives are no exception,” he noted.

He promised to push for the same through the due processes of the law.

“I will push for this before the corridors of justice to ensure that they (elders) are considered by our government,” he pointed out.

The lawyer says should he be voted in as the next Kilifi county boss he will ensure that all village elders and Nyumba Kumi representatives are included in the government payroll.

Kithi was addressing community leaders in Kanamai, Mtepeni ward in Kilifi north sub county, Kilifi county.
