National Tong IL Moo Do team, Jasiri, successfully defended its title in the Mombasa Open International Tong IL Moo do championship that culminated in Mombasa on Sunday.
Kenya fended off stiff competition from arch rivals such as Philippines to emerge overall winners with a total of 128 medals, 39 gold medals, 33 silver and 56 bronze.
The Philippines settled for second place with a total of 45 medals, DR Congo finishing third after collecting 12 medals while Ivory Coast, Zambia, Burkina Faso and Angola won two medals each.
Debutant USA, Nigeria, Japan and Thailand scooped one medal each, with Ethiopia the only country not to win any medal during the two day championship that attracted participants from 16 countries across the globe.
