A six-month-old baby has died in a road accident at Maji ya Chumvi area along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
This is after a passenger bus en route to Nairobi collided with another vehicle.
More than six other passengers were injured with one man breaking his arm.
According to police, the driver of the ill-fated vehicle, lost control while avoiding a head-on collision with another vehicle that was overtaking an unknown motor vehicle on a continuous yellow line.
The baby namely Maryanne Wangechi, died on the spot while other passengers sustained different degrees of injuries.
Kaloleni OCPD – Hezron Koech said the baby’s body was taken to the Coast General hospital mortuary.
The injured were rushed to Mariakani Hospital.
