Kenya Football Federation is still struggling to find the best coach for the Harambee Stars team after parting ways with Jacob Ghost Mulee just 11 months after his appointment.
A statement from FKF on Wednesday stated that they have reached an agreement with Mulee and the other two officials on the technical bench (Twahir Muhiddin and Goalkeeping coach Haggai Azande) to part ways in mutual consent.
The tactician, who won only one competitive match with stars against Togo, is the 5th manager under FKF president Nick Mwendwa.
Others before him are; Stanley Okumbi, Paul Put – who won the 2017 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Machakos, Sebastien Migne, and Francis Kimanzi who was sacked in 2020 and replaced by Mulee.
The federation which is looking forward to taking Harambee stars to the World cup for the first time in Kenya’s history now has a long way to go due to the rebuilding of the squad in every management that comes in.
Mulee’s waterloo came after dropping a number of experienced players like former captain Victor Wanyama, winger Ayub Timbe, Erick Johanna, and Johanna Omollo.
He brought in new faces operated – around Keneth Muguna, Lawrence Juma, and 20-year-old Richard Odada
Mwendwa’s headache now is to find a new tactician to guide Stars to Qatar and live a legacy.
Mwendwa’s tenure has also seen its fair share of troubles including failing to retain FKF league sponsors who terminated their contract.
Meanwhile, his office has also failed to pay clubs in time to an extend that saw Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards refuse to play their fixture a few months ago.
