The Kenyan government has not apologized to the Turkish government for deporting its citizen Harun Aydin.

Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i said the government followed all legal procedure before expelling Aydin who is linked to Deputy president William Ruto.

Speaking in Mombasa, Matiang’i says the Turkish man was arrested after intelligence agencies discovered he was involved in money laundering in East African countries.

Matiang’i also defended deportations and expulsion of foreigners from the country saying it is a normal occurrence.

“Less than two years ago, the government expelled about 40 foreigners who were found in the country without the required permits”, he said.

Deputy President William Ruto had earlier stated that he had called Aydin and apologized on behalf of Kenya following his humiliation and deportation.
