Three men were killed by a mob on Wednesday night in Kikambala Kilifi County on suspicion of being kidnappers.
According to an eyewitness, the three parked their car in a dark corner of the road in Junju village and when they were challenged to explain themselves they hesitated.
It is then that members of the public lynched them, according to locals.
Their vehicle was also burnt by the irate mob.
Incidents of suspected child abduction have risen in the country.
Police were unreachable for comment by the time of going to press.
