The Kenya Defence Forces will be holding a recruitment exercise in February.
“The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is pleased to announce to the public the recruitment of General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets, General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets (Undergraduate degree holders), Specialist Officers, General Duty Recruits, Tradesmen/women and Defence Forces Constables, which is scheduled to take place in the month of February 2021,” read an advertisement from KDF.
To meet the application qualification, one has to be a Kenyan Citizen with a valid Kenyan National Identity card and PIN certificate.
“Be at least 18 years and not above 26 years for the GSO Cadets, General Duty Recruits and Tradesmen/women with Certificate or Government Trade Test, not above 30 years for specialist officers, Tradesmen/women with Diploma, and not above 39 years for Chaplains,” reads the ad.
One must also be mentally and physically fit, with a minimum height of 1.60m and weight of 54.55 kg for men, and a minimum height of 1.52m and weight of 50kg for women.
“Female candidates must not be pregnant at the time of recruitment and during the entire duration of training,” reads the ad.
Specialist Officers and Tradesmen/women must have a minimum of two years of practicing experience in their field of specialization from the date of qualification and registration or registration with a relevant regulatory or statutory body in Kenya.
Academic Qualifications
Those applying for the GSO Cadets must hold a minimum mean grade of B (Plain) in KCSE with C+ (Plus) in English, Mathematics and one Science subject.
For those applying for GSO Cadets (Undergraduate Degree Holders) apart from having the same qualifications as the GSO Cadet, one must also be a holder of an undergraduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
Specialist Officer must have the minimum requirement to qualify as a GSO cadet except for chaplains who must hold a minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) in KCSE. They should also be holders of an undergraduate degree from a recognized university or institution.
Coast Itinerary
Lamu West recruitment will take place at Amu Island on the 8th of February 2021.
Mombasa’s first recruitment will be held at Chamgamwe in Changamwe sub-county also on the 8th of February 2021.
Lamu East recruitment will be held in Faza on the 9th of February 2021.
In Tana River, the second recruitment will be held at Garsen recruitment center in Tana Delta sub-county.
Second recruitment in Mombasa will be held in Kisauni on the 9th of February 2021.
Recruitment in Likoni will be held on the 10th, Jomvu on the 11th at Mikindani, Nyali 12th in Kongowea and Mombasa Island recruitment will be held on the 15th of February 2021.
In Kilifi, Magarini sub-county recruitment will be held in Marafa on the 10th, Malindi on the 11th, Mwembekati in Chonyi on the 12th, Ganze 15th, Kilifi in Kilifi North on the 16th, Kaloleni 17th, Rabai 18th and Kikambala in Kilifi South on the 19th of February.
In Kwale, the recruitment will be held in Lunga Lunga on the 16th, Msambweni on the 17th, Kinango 18th and Kwale in Matuga on 19th February.
Taita Taveta recruitment exercise will be held in Voi on the 16th, Mwatate 17th, Wundanyi in Taita on the 18th and Taveta on 19th of February 2021.
