A woman whose car plunged into the Indian Ocean at Kibarani, Mombasa has died.
She died at Coast General Hospital where she was rushed for treatment after being rescued from the accident scene by the Mombasa county fire brigade and members of the public.
Her son who was also in the car, a Toyota Vitz registration KCY 556B, managed to swim to safety.
The saloon car was coming from Changamwe and heading towards Mombasa Island when the accident occurred.
