You will have to continue being your child’s teacher after the government increased school holidays by a month from the date of opening which was scheduled for May 4th, 2020.

Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha on Sunday said that the government decided to extend the holidays by a month to protect the leraners from contracting the Coronavirus disease that has so far infected 355 and killed 14 people in the country.

“During this period there will be many interventions that will come up depending on how the government is able to control COVID-19,” said Prof. Magoha during Sunday’s briefing on status of COVID-19 in the country.

President Kenyatta ordered schools to be shut down on 15th March, 2020, when Kenya recorded her third infection after two more people tested positive of the disease.

According to Kenya National Examination Council KCSE exams timetable, students taking Agriculture, Computer Studies, Art and Design, Woodwork, Metalwork and Building Construction are supposed to be going on with their 7 months projects which were set to be carried out from January – July.
