Mombasa has reported two new cases of Coronavirus bringing to total 18 the number of cases confirmed in the county since the virus was first reported in March.
This comes as news broke out that Mandera had recorded two cases of the virus with one of the patients having traveled from Mombasa.
According to the Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country has increased to 172 after 14 new cases were reported.
Four counties which include Kisii, Machakos, and Kiambu reported their first cases while Mandera reported two cases.

“Among the 14 new cases four were from quarantine facility while 10 were picked by our surveillance team, 12 are Kenyans and two foreigners.
Kagwe has further urged Kenyans to adhere to the directives issued by the government to avert the spread of the disease.
“Let us be ready because the measures the government has put in place will not stop the disease immediately,” said Kagwe.
The government has further directed the closure of all the golf clubs in the country with immediate effects.

Kagwe said that three people who had tested positive for COVID-19 were released from isolation facilities after they tested negative.
The government has also directed all the health workers and medical practitioners to be screened COVID-19.
Kagwe said all the medical staff both in government and private facilities will be screened COVID-19.
The government has acknowledged the efforts of Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho to avert the spread of COVID-19.
His remarks came just hours after a sanitizing tent was put up at the Kongowea market in a bid to fight the spread of the virus in the sprawling market where traders had clashed with police on Monday.
