Troubled airline, Silverstone air has suspended all its flight services hours after the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority director General Gilbert Kibe revealed that the company had been banned from operating the dash 8 aircraft’s.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the airline said it was working to ensure all customers who had booked its aircraft’s would not have their travel plans disrupted.
“During this period we will continue to work with our customers to help minimize any disruption to their travel,we are in the process of contacting all our clients to protect them.” The airline said in a statement.
The airline which has been in operation for less than three years had its woes ignited by an incident where its fokker 50 aircraft skidded off the runaway at the Wilson airport on 11th October injuring three people.
On 28th October, another of its aircraft’s was forced to make an emergency landing at the Eldoret international airport after one of its wheels fell off.
Both incidents had forced the British high commission to warn its citizens against using the aircraft’s operating from the Wilson airport over safety concerns.
The airline operates a fleet of six Fokker 50s, four Dash 8-100s, three Dash 8- 300s and one CRJ-200 aircraft.
On Tuesday, the KCAA also announced that air cargo operator SAC and hot air balloon operator Adventures Aloft had also been suspended.
