A deadly lion which killed a 12 year old in Maungu, Taita Taveta has been killed just hours after the attack.
The lion which is suspected to have escaped from the nearby Tsavo West National park was shot down by Kenya Wildlife service officer who were patrolling the area.

According to eye witnesses, the lion attacked the 12 year old who was in bed chatting with her phone.
However the incident has caused outrage among area residents who are now accusing the Kenya Wildlife Service of not doing enough to curb the incidents of animals encroaching on residential areas.
This comes at a time when leaders in Taita Taveta led by governor Granton Samboja are collecting signatures to compel the government share with the county government revenue collected from the national park.
