Kwale, KENYA: Police in Kwale county are investigating an incident where the body of a man was found next to a Mosque in Diani, Msambweni sub-county.
The body of the deceased aged between 30-40 years was discovered by locals at around 2pm afternoon on Christmas day.
Confirming the incident, Diani OCPD Joseph Chebusit said the deceased didn’t have any physical injuries inflicted on his body.
“Police were alerted by members of the public who had retrieved a body of an unknown man lying adjacent to Diani Markaz Mosque. The man was suspected to be of unsound mind after police examined his body,” he said.
Chebusit said the body was later taken to Msambweni referral hospital pending autopsy.
He urged the locals and tourists to be on the lookout during this festive season.
He further said that security had been beefed up since the law enforcement body had been deployed in different areas.
“I am urging the public to be extra alert as well as security minded because security starts with everybody from home. We have planned our security operations within the area and our security agencies are covering every place,” he said.
