Jubilee legislators clash over Ruto’s alleged links to maize saga

Nairobi, KENYA: A section of legislators from Rift have sharply clashed over the maize saga, after it emerged that some MPs from the region linked the Deputy President William  Ruto on the saga.

In a media briefing at parliamentary buildings led by Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot and soi Member of parliament Calleb Koistany have blasted Moiben Member of parliament Silas Tiren ,Cherengany member of parliament Joshua Kuttuny and Nandi  Hills member of parliament Alfred Keter for dragging the name of the DP into the maize saga ,terming it as a mere political gimmick.

“We know detractors of Deputy President William Ruto have failed to contain him, now they have resorted to hiring cheap mercenaries roaming place to place in an attempt to slow him at home to create an impression that he is having a problem that is further from the truth,”Kosittany said

They accused the trio of playing politics and clandestinely driving a political agenda of a powerful politician for the 2022 presidential bid.

“Despite being MPs have not authored any single solution to farmers.If they are irked by Jubilee ‘s performance why didn’t they vie  in the party of their masters.”Kosittany said

They urged the legislators to direct their energy to the task force fronted by President Uhuru Kenyatta to address the maize crisis in the country.

They accused the DP of giving farmers false promises and asking them to grow alternative crops like avocado and cabbages.

The legislators Kuttuny, Tiren, and Keter reportedly said that said the DP should shelve his 2022 presidential ambitions and deal with problems affecting Kenyans first plight affecting the maize farmers.
