Monica Kimani murder: Detectives investigate Mombasa witch doctor dens

Nairobi, KENYA: Detectives have camped in Mombasa in a bid to trace the mysterious missing suspect in the Monica Kimani murder trial.

The mysterious suspect is believed to have sought a witchdoctor’s service in Mombasa in a bid to have himself cleansed or in a bid to seek magical powers to help him in avoiding his arrest.

The detectives believe that the suspect is the same one captured on surveillance camera driving in and out of Monica’s compound with Joseph Irungu in Citizen Tv news anchor Jacque Maribe’s car.

This comes as their counterparts camp in  Juba, South Sudan where Monica was said to be running a family business in a bid to trace Monica’s last movement and activities.

The detectives in Mombasa have stated that they are following on leads to recover essential items missing in the puzzle such as Monica’s car keys, clothes, killer weapons, and cash.

Director of Criminal Investigation George Kinoti has maintained that they are waiting for reports from the team on the ground as money is believed to be the motive behind the murder.

Jacque Maribe and her fiancée Irungu who are to be jointly charged with the murder will take plea on Monday 15th after Judge Jessie Lessit ordered the be remanded in Lang’ata women prison and industrial area police station as Jacque undergoes mental  assessment test.

Monica Kimani was found murdered in her apartment in Lamuria Gardens off Dennis Pritt road 20th September.
