Nairobi, KENYA: The Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has refuted claims of firing its embattled Chief Executive Officer Ezra Chiloba.

Through its twitter handle, IEBC has rather clarified that the disciplinary process is on-going and the commission will make an objective decision on the matter.

IEBC statement comes few hours after some media reports which stated that Chiloba was fired last evening after a consultative meeting held by the commission’s chair and the commissioners.

“It is not true that CEO Ezra Chiloba who is on suspension has been dismissed from employment,’’ iebc stated.

Chiloba was suspended from the commission April this year, after he was accused by the commission’s internal audit of involvement in a procurement flaw in the 2017 general elections.
