At a time when consumers are looking for specific features in a device, OPPO has designed the revolutionary VOOC Flash Charge Technology (Voltage Open Loop Multi-Step Constant Charging), a technology that has been developed by and for OPPO.

The VOOC technology applies a low voltage fast charging mechanism to deliver rapid charge at a speed four times faster than the normal conventional charging technology while ensuring a safe charging process with five layers protection from the charging adapter to Smartphone, including low temperature and voltage.

In addition, the phone comes with a 19:5:9 unique Water drop Screen design with a ratio of 90.8 percent, a front with a top-notch that hosts the receiver, camera and light sensor for more condensed space and more compact layout, thereby bringing the handset asymmetrical beauty allowing users to view more content on the well displayed 6.23-inch screen.

The device comes to the market in two colors, sunrise Red and Twilight Blue, OPPO promising Starry Purple before the end of the year, with inspiration coming from nature- sunrise, twilight, and starry skies.OPPO wants to infuse this feeling into the design of the product, to provide consumers with vitality rooted in nature.

Moreover, to achieve a unified design, F9 for the first time applies a gradient design on the side frame, making the sides and the back a naturally connected whole.

Boosting of a five layer protection system the OPPO F9 is ideal for a variety of electric current.

The first layer has a sensor that enables the phone to automatically detect the voltage and adjust accordingly.

The second layer is through the VOOC identification built into the adapter, identifying if the device supports flash charging.

The third layer enables overload protection. The fourth layers of the device detect voltage levels to release overload protection and current into the battery.

The fifth layer offers the customer a fuse in the device that will cut out any excess current into the phone battery while charging. These layers guarantee security and protection of the phone and the customer.

You can also use your phone while charging and still obtain the same levels super-fast charging

Based on Android 8.1, the phone comes in two variants, a 4GB RAM and a 6GB RAM both having a 64GB storage which can further be expanded with an internal micro SD card of up to 256GB. For the first time, OPPO F9 series is equipped with dual rear cameras (16mp + 2mp) also pioneering the 25MP  front camera.

Oppo brings the color OS 5.2 Operating System to create a smarter interactive experience for users.  The F9 is equipped with the Google Lens that identifies objects and shows relevant search results and information.

VOOC Charging was launched in 2014 and has gained over 500 patents with the technology being used by  90 million customers

The device has been on preorder since 10th September 2018 and will officially go on sale on 24th September at a price of Sh 35,990 for the 4GB version and Sh  37,990 for the 6GB version.
