Human rights activist Okiya Omtatah has moved to court to challenge the new changes in the police announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Omtatah filed a case at Milimani law court Nairobi, seeking to suspend the reforms arguing that the president has no power under the constitution to effect the changes.
President uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday announced the changes in the national police service, some of which include merging the administration police with the national police service.
The changes will also see abolishing of the OCPD titles and change of the police uniforms.
The head of state said the reforms are aimed at making the police a respectable service.
