Nairobi,KENYA:Nandi Hills Member of parliament Alfred Keter  with his counterpart of Emurua Dikir constituency  Dikir Johana Ngeno,Have called on the ministry of education together with national assembly committee on health to investigate the death of a student from Alliance High School.

In a media briefing in Nairobi on Tuesday, the Mps urged the two institutions to move with speed in order shed light on the matter after it emerged that the student died at Kikuyu Hospital on Wednsday after his admission on Monday.

“We wanted to know what led to this boy’s  death and what the administration was trying to cover up,so we wish to know why this boy was not properly managed and taken to the hospital immediately” Said Ngeno.

The mps argued that the child died under unclear circumstances and also the urgency taken towards him was wanting by alleging that the school administration declined to shade light on the issue.

The Emurua legislature has also called the ministry and the house committee at ascertain whether the student was bullied that ultimately led to medical complications.

The Mps said there is need for the ministry to do an overhaul of health related matters and cases of bullying across the country to avert scenarios related to KNH sagas.

Alliance high school has been on the limelight over cases of bullying of students.

In 2017 a case against  six students charged with assaulting their colleagues was withdrawn after the two parties agreed to settle the matter out of court.

The six had been named after an investigation was launched following students complaints of bullying and assault in the national school.
