10,000 delegates expected in Mombasa for teacher’s conference

Mombasa,KENYA:Over 10,000 headteachers are expected to convene in Mombasa for the headteachers conference which kicked of on Saturday.
This is according to the chairman of the Kenya Primary School Head Teachers Association (Kepsha) Shem Ndolo.
Ndolo who was speaking to journalists in Mombasa says the conference will wind up on 13th Decemeber.

Ndolo added that the 2017 conference had been delayed twice due to elections and national exams.

“It has come at a time when we have never conducted a conference” Ndolo told reporters.

Ndolo who was speaking alongside the coast regional coordinator Nelson Marwa urged the headteacher to attend the conference.

On his part Mr Marwa said that the conference was expected to boost tourism after a turbulent period following the August and October polls.

Marwa said the headteachers had settled for Mombasa as the city where the conference will be held following peace in the region during and after the August and October polls.

“The peace is the region has been an effort of many stakeholders” Marwa said.

The conference comes just as the tourism peak season kicks off in the coast region.
