Mombasa,KENYA:A petition challenging the reelection of Kwale governor Salim Mvurya has been dismissed by a court in Mombasa.
The petition had been filed by a voter Mbwana Mwamlole who wanted fresh polls ordered .
Lady justice Mugure Thande ruled that the petition was incompetent and did not meet the petition rules.
The judge further ordered Makwere to cater for the cost of the petition which amounts to sh 2.4 million.
Salim Mvurya was reelected for a second term in office on a Jubilee party ticket after garnering 119,680 votes trouncing Wiper’s Chirau Ali Makwere who garnered 29,741 votes.
