Nairobi,KENYA:National carrier Kenya Airways has suspended flights to parts of South East Asia.

In a statement on Thursday, the struggling carrier said it had suspended flights to Hongkong and Hanoi in Vietnam but would continue to serve those routes through its partners.

“This network decision will help Kenya Airways to strengthen its focus on Africa. We will continue to serve our customers to Asia through our direct flights to China and Thailand and work closely with our partners to cover the Asian continent,” the airline commercial director Vincent Coste said.

According to the statement, the flights would be discontinued on 29th October to allow for more seats to be allocated to its African routes.

However, the airline would operate daily flights to Guangzou in China and Bangkok in Thailand.
