Nairobi, KENYA: A report by Youth Agenda indicates that only four political parties out of eight, have published and put their manifestos online.

In a media briefing in Nairobi on Monday, Youth Agenda chief executive officer Susan Mwongera said that the National Alliance party ,Jubilee party, ThirdWay Alliance and Prof Michael Wanaina who is an independent candidate are the ones who published their manifestos.

“We note with concern that of the 8 presidential candidates’ cleared by IEBC to participate in the 8th August general election ,only 4 had manifestos published and available online at the time of content development.” Mwongera said.

Some of the parties which did not publish their manifestos include Cyrus Jirongo’s United democratic party, Joe Nyagah who is an independent candidate, Abduba Diba’s Alliance for real change among others.

Mwongera said that on youth unemployment, Jubilee party and prof Wainaina articulated the specific youth policy and programmatic actions to be undertaken with a clear mention on the youth.

She said that NASA and Thirdway Alliance have captured job creation and interventions but not highlighted how the youth as a constituency will benefit.

Tackling sports mismanagement and arts ,Mwongera indicated that all manifestos have clear indications of their plans to prioritize and safeguard Kenya’s sports and art.

However ,the youth Agenda urged presidential and gubernatorial candidates to take note on the youth’s interests and have them in their policy formulations and implementation for the sake of development of the country.

It also demanded that whoever wins presidential office come August 8 ,must accelerate payment of youth entrepreneurs who have rendered various services to the government.

Mwongera, urged the youth to vote wisely and avoid being misused by the politicians during elections.
