Nairobi,KENYA: Laikipia county senator Geoffrey Gitahi popurlaly known as GG Kariuki is dead.
He died at Nairobi Hospital aged 79 years old.
His family says the veteran politician died on Thursday night while undergoing treatment.
GG Kariuki was admitted to the hospital last week.
The Jubilee senator joined politics in 1959.
He served in the governments of founding President Jomo Kenyatta and President Daniel Arap Moi.
