London, ENGLAND: Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the winner four minutes from time as Manchester United narrowly beat Southampton 3-2 to claim the English Football League EFL Cup on Sunday at Wembley.

The Saints’ dominance paid off after  Manolo Gabbiadiani netted a brace to cancel out United’s 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Jesse Lingard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Despite continuous threat from Southampton, it’s Manchester United who carried the day with Zlatan timely heading in Ander Herrera’s cross gifting Jose Mourinho his first major title since his appointment in last summer.

The victory also saw Manchester United who are still in the race to win FA Cup and UEFA Europa League, surpass Liverpool as the English most successful club with 42 major honors.
