Mombasa, KENYA: Nominated Member of Mombasa County assembly Sarah Nyamvula is dead.
Nyamvula succumbed on Monday while undergoing treatment in India.
According to family members, Nyamvula was suffering from Lymphoma Cancer was rushed to India on 29 December 2016 for further treatment.
James Kilifi,brother, said that they have started the arrangements of bringing back the body of the deceased to the country for burial arrangements.
Mourning her death, Ms. Fatuma Swaleh fellow nominated MCA, remembered the deceased as a person who was dedicated to be a voice of the voiceless in the community, humble and hardworking.
The soft-spoken Nyamvula who was famously known as ‘Mama Nyamvula ‘ was known as a human rights activists passionate about equal rights of children and women.

She vied for Frere town ward MCA in the past 2013 General elections, but lost to Amir Thoya.
Later, Nyamvula was nominated in the Mombasa county assembly.
