Ugandan Jordan Schleck won the 120km cycling race in the 4th leg of the 2024 LOOP Safari Gravel Series held in Vipingo Ridge, Kilifi County on Saturday.

Schleck was crowned champion after clocking 4:40:50 in the 120KM LOOP men’s elite category during the 4th and final leg of the series.

Schleck, who was also the winner of the series’ first leg held in Tatu City once again showcased exceptional endurance, securing the first position.

“Winning the final leg of the LOOP Safari Gravel Series wasn’t easy, but I was prepared for the challenge. The course at Vipingo Ridge was tough, but I knew what to expect and pushed myself to the limit. The support from fellow riders and the incredible atmosphere made it all worthwhile,” said Schleck.

Kenyan champion Stanley Ngugi came in third after clocking 5:00:55. The Second position was taken by Joel Kyaviro from DRC who clocked 4:57:37.

The women’s category of the 120km LOOP was also won by a Ugandan, Aleper Mary.

Aleper who emerged third in the Hells Gate (third) Edition made an incredible comeback with a victorious time of 6:26:16 hrs, followed by Kendra Masige and Monica Jelimo at 6:42:00 hrs and 6:46:12 hrs respectively.
