Joho among Ruto’s nominees to Cabinet

Former Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is among Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) politicians nominated into President William Ruto’s cabinet.

At a press conference in Nairobi, Pres. Ruto named Joho and nine others during the release of his second batch of Cabinet Secretary nominees.

The former Mombasa Governor and ODM Deputy Party leader has been nominated Cabinet Secretary Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.

Meanwhile, former Mining and Blue Economy CS Salim Mvurya also returned to the cabinet under the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry.

Kindiki, Duale back in Cabinet

Rebecca Miano, who was nominated as the new Attorney General last week, has now been nominated as the CS Tourism and Wildlife.

Dr. Alfred Mutua who was in charge of the Tourism and Wildlife Ministry has been nominated CS Labour and Social Protection.

Former Roads and Transport CS Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen takes over as the new Youth Affairs, Creatives Economy and Sports.

New faces in the cabinet include John Mbadi who has been nominated CS National Treasury, James Opiyo Wandayi in the Energy and Petroleum Ministry, and Wycliffe Oparanya under the Cooperatives and MSME Development Ministry.

Public Service ministry will be under former Speaker Justin Muturi while Stella Soi Lang’at takes over the Gender, Culture, Arts, and Heritage.

Some former Cabinet Secretaries who did not make it to the new cabinet include Ababu Namwamba, Moses Kuria, Aisha Jumwa, Eliud Owalo, Peninah Malonza, Ezekiel Machogu and Susan Nakhumicha.
