The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) members will also be present at the Azimio-led protests scheduled to start on Wednesday.

Speaking in Mombasa, UDA Vice Chair Hassan Omar Sarai said they will be on the ground to monitor the three-day planned protests by Azimio.

“It is sad that people calling themselves Mombasa leaders can sit somewhere but instead of discussing how to improve Mombasa, they discuss oh how to destroy Mombasa. I am telling you, we will not let you loot people’s property and destroy businesses in the guise of protests,” said Sarai.

The East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament said they will not let protesters destroy people’s property in Mombasa.

“We will not condone the senseless destruction and violence. We urge our supporters and residents of Mombasa to collaborate with security agencies to defend their lives and properties and overcome the saboteurs,” he said.

Sarai was joined by other UDA leaders including former Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua aka Jaguar, Mombasa County Minority Leader and Mtopanga Ward MCA Morgan Masaki, MCAs Sylvester Kai (Junda) and Hon. Samuel Mwaura (Kongowea), Chairperson of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund Fatma Barayan, Chairperson of the Coast Development Authority Mzee Mwinyi Mzee among others.
