A woman on Wednesday gave birth aboard the Madaraka Express Passenger train while traveling to Mombasa.
According to Kenya Railways social media platforms, the baby was delivered by Dr. Indanyenyi Luseso who was onboard.
“We are delighted to share a heartwarming story of a mother who welcomed her bundle of joy on board the Madaraka Express Passenger Service train to Mombasa,” wrote Kenya Railways.
The mother and newborn were rushed to Mariakani sub-county hospital for further medical assistance.
“Both the mother and the baby are okay. We wish her well,” said Kenya Railways.
Meanwhile, Kenyans on Twitter want the Madaraka Express to grant the mother and child lifetime SGR tickets.
