Joseph Siror appointed new Kenya Power MD and CEO

Engineer Joseph Siror is the new Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Siror was appointed the new KPLC MD and CEO by the Kenya Power Board of Directors on Tuesday.

He will be taking over from Eng. Geoffery Muli who had served in the same position since May 2022.

“Prior to his appointment, Dr. Siror was General Manager in charge of Technical Services (System Operations and Power Management) at the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO),” read a statement from Kenya Power Board Chair Joy Brenda Masinde.

The Board Chair said Dr.Siror’s experience and expertise will help provide Kenya Power with a fresh start and build on past success to deliver new strategic direction to the company.

“He previously worked as a Director of Science, Technology and Innovation and Communication at the National Economic and Social Council (NESC). He also served as a Senior Assistant Commissioner of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA); the Kenya Posts and Telecommunications Corporation and at Firestone East Africa Limited as and Executive Engineer and Senior Systems Analyst respectively,” said Masinde in the statement.

Through the statement, the Board also recognized and appreciated the immediate former MD Eng. Muli and Eng. Rosemary Oduor who served in acting capacity from April 2021 to May 2022.
